Acceptance of our Terms of Use

Like you, we just love food and cooking. We especially enjoy inspiring others through making seemingly complex French culinary delights simple, for you to create at home. However this passion brings with it numerous financial, insurance and legal aspects, hence all of the below necessary bureaucracy. We want to ensure you are aware of the risks for you, and us. You will appreciate that we work in kitchens with knives, gas, oil, flames etc. (you get the idea) plus we teach out of the Williams-Sonoma kitchens that is adjacent to their general public access store. So, here we go......

Hereafter reference to (we, us or our) means The French Food Coach and/or Alison Maher. Using our website, or making bookings, means that you have agreed to the Terms of Use for our website and when in the kitchens and also our Privacy page. Please note we may change these Terms of Use at any time, without pro-actively advising you. If we make a change, the next time you use this website will mean you agree to any changed Terms of Use/Privacy page.

General Booking Conditions (details follow below):

By booking a class or event, you are agreeing to let us contact you via e-mail and/or phone in regards to your booking, if need be. Bookings are only confirmed on receipt of full payment. 

Cancellations are not refundable, however when booking through our frenchfoodcoach.com.au (vs. Eventbrite) website: Reservations may be transferred to another available class if more than 7 days notice is given; if you need to cancel a booked class, cancellation more than 7 days prior to the date of the class, the option to reschedule to another class is available (subject to availability); cancellation of a class up to within  7 days and up to 5 days prior to the scheduled class, a $50 fee to reschedule the class shall apply; a cancellation of a class within 4 days of the scheduled class, the full amount of the class will be forfeited and no option to reschedule will be available and if you cannot make it to your reserved class, you are welcome to send someone in your place. If, by the time your booking has been processed by us (or Eventbrite), the Class has filled up then you will be given a Credit note to be used against a future class. 

You agree to our Release of Liability clause below, when attending any of our classes, specifically in the Williams-Sonoma kitchens. For OHS reasons, enclosed shoes need to be worn in the kitchen and long hair must be tied back. We reserve the right to cancel classes. Should this occur we will refund the full cost of the class. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of class (and not earlier than 20 minutes please).

We take no liability for any food intolerances or allergens.

Reservation, cancellation & transfer policies

We reserve the right to alter or cancel a class. If a class is cancelled for any reason, a choice of rescheduling or full refund will be given. Minimum numbers apply to run classes. If minimum numbers are not met, the class will be cancelled. At least 48 hours notice will be given and rescheduling will be offered.
If a class is cancelled due to circumstances beyond our control we are not responsible for any costs, damages or expenses that you may suffer or incur.

Class attendance
Class attendees between 16 years and 17 years of age may attend if accompanied by a responsible adult (1 adult per child). Our liabilities are such that children under 16 year can not attend our classes. Photographs may be taken during the classes and used for marketing or promotional purposes. Photos of children (16-18 years old) will only be used by us with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you do not want us to use photos of you, please let us know. Classes will start on time. It is best to arrive 10 minutes early (no more than 20 minutes please) so that none of the class is missed. Our instructors and staff reserve the right to refuse anyone who is intoxicated or behaving erratically, or exhibiting threatening or unruly behaviour.

Release of Liability

When participating in one of our classes or event, whereby the class attendee/participant will be in the presence of or using sharp or potentially dangerous kitchen utensils and appliances, the class attendee releases, indemnifies and excludes us including Alison Maher, and French Food Coach site contractors, employees and Williams-Sonoma, from any and all liability of any kind for any damage or injury incurred while attending or visiting our classes or events. This specifically includes classes held at Williams-Sonoma kitchens. The class attendee/participant understands these terms and conditions and accepts the inherent risks of a kitchen environment when they make a payment for a class or event. We will take all necessary care, but accept no responsibility for the damage to or loss of property left in the venue prior to, during or after a class or event. we are not responsible for the loss or damage of personal items in any form. This specifically includes the Williams-Sonoma premises/kitchens. The class attendee, or event organiser, may be held financially responsible for any damage to or loss of our, or Williams-Sonoma, property during the class or event.
